A business matchmaking event focused on Uganda was held on Oct 30 at the BRICS Industrial Cooperation and Go-Global Comprehensive Service Hub in Xiamen, where two cooperation initiatives were launched.
Under the first, a liaison office for Uganda's investment promotion agency will be set up at the service hub, connecting Ugandan investment resources with Xiamen's outbound service network and giving Chinese companies a more direct, official channel to invest in Uganda.

The second is a joint industrial park project between the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution Innovation Center (BPIC) and the China-Uganda Mbale Industrial Park, which will host manufacturing operations and help move China-Uganda industrial cooperation toward a more park-based, concrete model.

Zhang Zhigang, chairman of the Uganda-based Tian Tang Group, with over two decades of experience investing in Africa, said the company will continue to operate the Mbale park and use BPIC and Fujian's industrial strengths to build two-way trade and investment links and support Uganda's industrial upgrading.
Xiamen has seen growing trade and economic ties with Africa in recent years, drawing on its position as an international transport hub and its role as host of BPIC. The outbound services hub, located in the Xiamen Free Trade Zone, brings together domestic and international resources to support Chinese companies expanding into BRICS and other partner markets.
