Xiamen Port – located in Xiamen city, in East China's Fujian province – was listed among the top 10 maritime container ports with the best business environments in 2022 on Dec 9.
That result means it's made the list for four consecutive years. In 2019 and 2021, Xiamen ranked first, while in 2021 and 2022 it received a four-star rating, which is the highest star rating for ports in China.
But Xiamen Port is not resting on its laurels and is said to be continuing to develop an optimal business environment. The administrative committee of the Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone, along with other departments of Xiamen, has issued a set of policies.
These are focused on the optimization of border clearances, the supervision of charges, as well as digitalization and higher efficiency – and it has rolled out a set of 44 detailed measures.
In addition, a work team to improve Xiamen Port customs clearance procedures was set up to resolve difficulties currently facing port-related companies and to achieve the city's ambition of becoming a world-class logistics hub.
Figures show that the import and export clearance time of Xiamen Custom hit a new record last September. The duration of customs clearances was slashed to an average of 24.34 hours for imports and to 1.09 hours for exports – down 20.35 percent and 30.13 percent, respectively, from a year earlier.
