A center for mechanical and electrical products in the Xiamen Area of the China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone – located in the city of Xiamen in East China's Fujian province – is going from strength to strength.

It was built and is being operated by the Xiamen-based Xiangyu Group, with an investment of about 100 million yuan ($14.4 million).

Occupying a site covering 17,000 square meters and with a floor space of around 8,000 sq m, the complex is positioned as a one-stop service provider for the entire industry supply chain for high-end equipment intelligent manufacturing.

It is a facility that has been especially designed for product displays, ordering and trading, technical training, production solutions customizations, logistics and customs clearances, business offices and financial services.

The first floor provides an exhibition hall for robots, industrial automation equipment and intelligent CNC machine tools.

The second level offers displays and demonstrations of light electromechanical devices, products for the smart home and business intelligence. The third floor is where technical training is held and it also houses offices and commercial support areas.

The center leverages Xiamen's geographical advantages with respect to Taiwan and serves the high-end manufacturing industry on both sides of the Taiwan Straits. It has also become a window and a bridgehead for Taiwan's intelligent manufacturing and high-end equipment sector to enter the mainland market.

One of the facility's goals is to bring in players in the mechanical and electrical industry supply chain and support companies in the sector – especially those from Taiwan – and to be a service center for the high-end intelligent manufacturing supply chain in Fujian province.

The center is currently home to 350 enterprises and it has signed contracts with 41 top domestic and foreign brands, including Japan's Tsugami and Yamazaki Mazak and Germany's Trumpf.

Its products cover more than 10 categories, such as unmanned aerial vehicles, precision CNC machine tools, intelligent robots, 3D printing and smart homes.

In 2019, the cumulative operating revenue of the center hit estimated 2.8 billion yuan.
