Goodrich TAECO Aeronautical Systems (Xiamen) Co Ltd – located in Xiamen city, in East China's Fujian province – held a relocation ceremony on May 24.

The event marked its official move to its new production facility at the Xiamen International Aerospace Material Center, in the Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone.

The new facility will expand the production area of the company by 70 percent, further increasing output capacity and efficiency.

General Manager Zhuo Yu said that as an important joint venture of Collins Aerospace in China, the company had been in Xiamen for nearly 30 years.

"With an investment of over $11 million in the new production facility and expanded production area, we will significantly improve our production efficiency, providing faster components turnaround time and more efficient services to our customers," Zhuo said.

He added that with the upgraded and larger production facility, the company would move to ramp up its business and bolster its maintenance capabilities in order to serve the ARJ21 and C919 domestic aircraft projects.

Since its establishment, the Xiamen FTZ has developed key platforms for aviation maintenance.

Through innovative mechanisms and policies – such as the exemption of import duties on aircraft materials – it has attracted leading companies such as Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering Co Ltd, Taikoo Engine Services (Xiamen) Co Ltd and Goodrich TAECO, forming an important one-stop aviation maintenance base in China.
