The Hairun Container Terminal in the Xiamen Area of the China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone was recently praised as a four-star smart port by the China Ports and Harbors Association for its scientific management, advanced facilities, and highly-efficient digital services.
Last year, the terminal underwent a groundbreaking transformation, becoming the nation's first fully automated container port. This remarkable upgrade elevated it to an "unmanned terminal" status. It now integrates an intelligent production management system with a smart container logistics platform to establish a comprehensive and intelligent logistics chain system.
Within this system, cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, blockchain, big data, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things have been extensively applied, empowering the port's production and operational models. The project has lower investment requirements and is capable of quicker returns on investment, making it highly scalable for wider adoption.
The upgraded Hairun Terminal has significantly reduced overall comprehensive costs, resulting in a 10 percent improvement in operational efficiency.
