The Xiamen Area of the Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District in Xiamen city, Fujian province, has achieved significant milestones over the last year.
The area has established an international platform for commercial maritime litigation, arbitration, and mediation. This has revitalized the legal industry and attracted law enforcement and legal technology enterprises.
High-profile legal institutions, including the Xiamen International Commercial Court and the world's first representative office of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization, have settled in the area. The area also currently houses 115 legal institutions and projects, with almost 900 related enterprises and organizations in Xiamen.

"By offering comprehensive and high-end legal services, the area has become a one-stop destination," said Tu Chongyu, chief partner of Universal Legal Corp, which recently relocated its headquarters to the area.
Efforts will continue to expand the area's capabilities. This includes attracting institutions like Beijing-based Zhong Wen Law Firm and Shanghai-based Landing Law Office, establishing the Yingke International Legal Service Center, and fostering the development of law enforcement and security technology industries.
The area's initiatives have benefited over 2,600 enterprises through the "legal services benefiting thousands of enterprises" campaign. Notably, the area has handled cases involving international contracts and collaborations, such as Indian metallurgical silicon sales contracts and Brazilian agency contracts.
Moreover, the area has engaged in outreach activities to promote foreign-related legal services and capabilities in nearby cities. It will also participate in international forums, including the upcoming third China-Singapore international commercial dispute resolution forum.
