The Global Book Copyright Market Publishing Forum and Business Matching event was held in the Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone – located in East China's Fujian province – on June 7.

It attracted over 10 publishing organizations from Thailand and Malaysia.

The event brought together over 20 domestic and international cultural institutions involved in copyright content creation, distribution and publishing. Activities included signings of publishing deals, know-how and experience sharing and one-on-one copyright matchmaking.

During the conference, Xiamen International Book Company Limited – which is based in the national cultural export base in the Xiamen FTZ – signed agreements with several Chinese and foreign publishing houses, such as Hainan Publishing House and China Machine Press.

The organizers also arranged for one-on-one copyright matchmaking discussions, resulting in over 100 formal expressions of interest for copyright cooperation in such areas as physical books, audiobooks, cultural IP and printing services.

The Global Book Copyright Market serves as a platform to connect publishing industry resources from China and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. It provides a complete range of services for copyright displays, trading, training, translations and more.

The project has attracted over 100 domestic publishing organizations, cultural IP development companies, audiobook production agencies and translation and printing service providers – including Xinhua Winshare Publishing and Media Co Ltd and Shanghai Century Publishing (Group) Co Ltd.

It aims to promote the overseas exports of themed books, Chinese cultural IP, children's books and online literature.
