The Xiamen (Kitchen and Bath) Rapid IP Protection Center recently circulated a commendation notice by the China National Intellectual Property Administration, to acknowledge its notable accomplishments.

Xiamen is the port city in East China's Fujian province and as one of the key supply chains, the kitchen and bath sector is widely said to hold a significant position in Xiamen's industrial base.

Established within the Xiamen Area of the China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone in 2017, the center's primary responsibility is to expedite the examination and defense of design patents in the kitchen and bath sector.

The center provides swift pre-examination services for design patents, enabling qualified patent applications to access the fast-track examinations process administered by the China National Intellectual Property Administration.

As a result, the authorization cycle has been significantly reduced from three to five months previously to just 10 working days. To date, the rapid protection center has served 152 enterprises, reportedly receiving widespread appreciation and recognition.

Moreover, the center has established a consultation mechanism for patent infringement determinations, leveraging the expertise of professionals and patent data resources. Handling 841 patent infringement complaints, the center has provided corresponding advisory opinions to help enterprises promptly defend their rights.

Additionally, the center offers mediation services for patent infringement disputes, facilitating the resolution of conflicts through mediation. In recent years it has been invited to serve as a guest mediation organization of the Xiamen intermediate people's court.

Moving forwards, the Xiamen FTZ is understood to be committed to advancing the development of an IP-friendly pilot free trade zone – making a major contribution to the growth of Xiamen's kitchen and bath industry.
