China Southern Cargo Airlines, the logistics arm of China Southern Airlines, recently unveiled a city cargo depot at the Gaoqi area of the Xiamen Free Trade Zone.

It is the company's first innovative cargo depot in Fujian province providing comprehensive logistic services and is set to inject fresh impetus into the integrated high-quality development of the southwest region of Fujian province.

China Southern Cargo Airlines has opened 23 all-cargo routes and operates 17 Boeing 777 cargo aircraft. With the largest Boeing 777 freighter fleet in China, it is an industry leader in terms of air cargo capacity.

As the first innovative city cargo depot of China Southern Cargo Airlines in Fujian province, the facility can meet the diverse demands of customers for domestic and international cargo transportation. It provides integrated comprehensive services such as preposition warehouse collection, pre-safety inspection, sorting and consolidation, cross-border declaration, and Train-Air-Truck (TAT) combined transportation.

"Fujian province is located in the Western Taiwan Strait Economic Zone. Relying on the advantages of the region's well-developed integrated three-dimensional transportation hub, it boasts a strong foundation in air-truck intermodal transport," said Jiang Xiaoya, general manager of the Fujian branch of China Southern Cargo Airlines.

With the innovative collaboration model that integrates the city cargo terminal, free trade zone and cross-border e-commerce alliance, China Southern Airlines in Xiamen is able to provide the companies in the FTZ with customized intercontinental airline services, seamless cargo delivery and enriched logistics services. It will promote the region's export efficiency, and further enhance the city’s competitiveness in foreign trade of local goods, she added.

In addition to Xiamen, China Southern Cargo Airlines is also planning to set up cargo terminals in other cities in the province, such as Zhangzhou, Quanzhou and Fuzhou, to contribute to the construction of domestic and international supply chains with one-stop logistics services.
