The installation of the steel structure of the Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport maintenance base, a key supporting project for Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport, was successfully completed recently.
The Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport maintenance base is currently the largest foreign-invested industrial project in the Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport. The maintenance base occupies a total area of 537,000 square meters.
The project, which started construction in January this year, will include an apron, hangars, and an office building. The facility comprises 12 widebody aircraft maintenance bays and six narrowbody repair slots, and is able to accommodate various aircraft types with different maintenance requirements.
The steel structure engineering truss is expected to be elevated by April 2024. Upon the completion of steel structure engineering, the project will move to the hangar enclosure system construction phase.
Upon completion, the Xiamen Xiang'an Intl Airport maintenance base will become the largest single-scale and the widest span civil aviation aircraft maintenance hangar in the world. This will further enhance the airport's operational support capabilities and comprehensive service levels.
