The 19th Cross-Strait Book Fair kicked off in Xiamen on Sept 21 and ran till Sept 23.
Both the scale of the exhibition and the number of participating organizations are the highest in five years.
This year's fair had an exhibition area of 20,000 square meters. The Xiamen Fliport C&E Center, which served as the main venue, spanned 11,000 square meters.
The exhibited books came from 387 publishing organizations across the Strait, including 271 mainland publishing and related organizations, and 116 publishing organizations from Taiwan.
The fair featured 115,000 books from across the Strait, including 83,000 books from the mainland and 32,000 books from Taiwan. These books are worth more than 33 million yuan ($4.52 million)., reflecting the new face and outstanding achievements of the publishing industry on both sides of the Strait.
A total of 203 provincial and municipal public libraries, university libraries, and academic research institutions were invited to the fair, facilitating cross-Strait book trade ordering and copyright transactions.
During the fair, Xiamen International Book Company held a meeting to announce its export situation in 2022. According to the company, it exported 830,000 volumes of books worth 60.45 million yuan, an increase of 12.37 percent and 6.2 percent respectively year-on-year, in 2022.
