At the recently concluded 21st China Straits Innovation and Projects Fair, the Xiamen Port Tug 30, a 5000-horsepower green and smart new energy hybrid tugboat constructed by Xiamen Port Shipping, attracted much attention.

The Xiamen Port Tug is the first domestic tug to use a series-parallel hybrid power system with a direct current network.

The vessel is considered a major innovation breakthrough because its hybrid system effectively reduces the ship's energy consumption and the emission of atmospheric pollutants during top push operations.

Compared to traditional tugboats, this tug generates 875.65 tons less CO2 emissions, 6.25 tons less CO emissions, 8.48 tons less hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides and 0.15 tons less particulate matter annually, thus providing a more sustainable consumption plan for tugboats in ports.

Next, the Xiamen Free Trade Zone will formulate incentive measures for enterprises to voluntarily adhere to their social responsibilities in the environmental field.
