Xiamen Port recently unveiled a new e-commerce express route to the Port of Los Angeles on the United States West Coast.
Requiring just 15 days to complete, this new route is one of the fastest shipping routes from Xiamen to Los Angeles.
The vessel FELIXSTOWE, was the first to ply the route on Nov 19.
The new shipping route is operated by the Israeli shipping giant ZIM to deploy six 50,000-70,000 tonnage container vessels on the route every week.
This route only docks at Xiamen Port and Yantian Port. It will sail directly to the Port of Los Angeles from these Chinese ports.
The route is expected to service the growing demands for cross-border e-commerce logistics and reduce logistics costs for shipping companies.
This route is expected that the annual container throughput at Xiamen Port may exceed 30,000 TEUs, which will further densify the foreign trade trunk network of Xiamen Port.
