With among the high amounts of Taiwan investment, dense population of Taiwan talent, and frequent cross-Strait economic and trade exchanges of anywhere in China, Xiamen has long been committed to creating new systems and enhancing services for Taiwan businesspeople, striving to attract more Taiwan compatriots and enterprises.
As of now, there are over 6,000 Taiwan businesses flourishing in Xiamen, more than anywhere else in Fujian province. The industrial output value of these Taiwan enterprises accounts for about one-fourth of Xiamen's total industrial output. This fact is closely tied to Xiamen's many years of commitment in optimizing the business environment so that Taiwan businesses can establish roots in Xiamen.
In 2018, the Xiamen Cross-Strait Equity Exchange officially launched the "Taiwan-funded board" to provide comprehensive financial services for Taiwan enterprises. By the end of August, the number of companies listed on the "Taiwan-funded board" reached 1,401, cumulatively realizing a total of 11.59 million yuan ($1.62 million) in financing for Taiwan-funded enterprises.
In June, the service center for Taiwan business development in the Xiamen Free Trade Zone was officially inaugurated, becoming another innovative way to explore new paths for cross-Strait integrated development.
On the same day, the platform that facilitates the sharing of cross-Strait industrial standards was also officially launched, offering services such as standard information inquiry and Taiwan business standard disclosure for Taiwan businesses across the Strait.
