Xiamen had earlier this month opened two new cross-border e-commerce channels – the Xiamen-Paris air freight route and the Xiamen-Japan sea freight route.
The Xiamen-Paris air freight route is the city's first direct air route for cross-border e-commerce goods to a European destination. It is also the first charter cargo flight route opened in Fujian province this year. There will be two flights every week on Mondays and Thursdays.
Besides transporting domestic e-commerce goods to Europe, it will also bring back products such as seafood, wine, and skincare products from France.
This air route reduces overall logistics costs for cross-border e-commerce enterprises by 40 percent, thus improving their capital turnover rate and reducing operational costs associated with capital management.
Meanwhile, the Xiamen-Japan sea freight express route will allow goods to be exported from China to Japan using a "terminal station + port + shipping route" model.
Goods will be cleared by customs at Xiamen Port before they are transported from Haitian Port to Kobe, Japan. The journey will take three days.
