Recently, 1,490 metric tons of domestically produced low-sulfur fuel oil was transferred from the bonded oil tank at the Haicang Haiao Terminal to the international vessel GLOVIS AMBITION, marking the launch of the province's first "two-tank-in-one" bonded ship refueling operation.
"Two-tank-in-one" refers to the dual functionality of oil storage tanks, which, under customs supervision, serve as both bonded warehouses and export supervision warehouses. This allows the tanks to function as bonded oil warehouses while also receiving and storing oil for export supervision.
Before the implementation of the "two-tank-in-one" method, every supply of fuel oil for ships had to be transferred from the export supervision warehouse to the bonded warehouse.
With the implementation of the new method, the bonded warehouse now incorporates the functionality of the export supervision warehouse. Companies only need to rent one tank to benefit from the functions of both a bonded warehouse and an export supervision warehouse.
This will reduce tank rental costs, increase tank utilization rates, accelerate the circulation of oil products, improve fuel supply efficiency, and encourage refineries to fully utilize their production capacity.
This will also help achieve the goal of using domestically produced oil to meet demand and reduce the operating costs of bonded ship refueling for supply companies.
