The number-one hangar of the Xiamen Taikoo Xiang'an Aircraft Maintenance Base, which is currently under construction, is the world's largest and widest civil aviation aircraft maintenance hangar. The hangar's steel roof structure was recently lifted.
The number-one hangar measures 525.1 meters in length and 73.85 meters in width, with 5,220 metric tons of steel used for the hall's truss structure. This makes it currently the world's largest-span integral lifting truss system.
By the end of April, the truss structure will be connected by bracing and integrated with the main gate truss, and the second lifting closure will be carried out. The hangar's entire steel structure will be completed in July 2024.
Next, the project will involve mechanical and electrical installations, construction of the enclosure structure and curtain wall, decoration, and other related construction activities.
The Xiamen Taikoo Xiang'an Aircraft Maintenance Base is located on the north side of the Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport, which covers an area of 537,300 square meters, with a building area of 292,300 square meters. It is expected to be completed in November 2025.
The base will enhance the airport's operational support capabilities and overall service quality.
