At the beginning of this year, the Ministry of Commerce, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, and other departments jointly issued a notice on supporting the high-quality development of trade between Fujian province and Taiwan and enhancing trade facilitation.

Stimulated by policy incentives, Xiamen's small-scale trade with Taiwan is growing, and data shows that the Xiamen Dadeng Taiwan small commodity trading market has seen an influx of new businesses, leading to increased consumption.

Taiwan entrepreneur Xiao Qiyuan established Bao Dao Dreamland, focusing on parent-child study tours and other projects, at the Xiamen Dadeng Taiwan small commodity trading market.

After setting up shop at the market, Xiao has enjoyed entrepreneurial guidance, tax reductions, and other supportive policies, and since the opening of the theme park nearly six months ago, its revenue has steadily increased.

This year, a total of 10 new businesses have been established at the Dadeng market. The latest data shows that during the recent May Day holiday, the Dadeng market received a total of 43,672 visits, representing a 59.11 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

The Xiamen Dadeng Taiwan small commodity trading market opened on May 1, 1999, becoming the first mainland small commodities trading market with tax exemptions for people from Taiwan. It plays a unique role in promoting closer economic and trade exchanges between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and facilitating people-to-people interactions.
