Cainiao, the world's largest cross-border e-commerce logistics enterprise, officially launched its second cross-border merchant center in Xiamen on Sept 27.
With upcoming shopping festivals such as Double 11 and Black Friday set to create a surge in overseas shipping demand, the Xiamen Merchant Center plans to proactively strengthen its local service team to provide customized cross-border express services for a large number of local small and medium-sized exporters.
By responding more efficiently and specifically to the actual needs of local sellers, it is estimated that this initiative can save businesses five percent to 10 percent in logistics costs.
"The Xiamen and surrounding areas not only gather numerous cross-border e-commerce enterprises but also have many footwear and clothing manufacturing companies, with a well-developed industrial chain and supply chain ecosystem," said Ma Zhijiang, the person in charge of the Cainiao International Express Merchant Center.
He stated that Cainiao opened its first cross-border merchant center in Yiwu, Zhejiang province, in June. The decision to establish a center in Xiamen was mainly due to the strong cross-border e-commerce industry in the region.
After the establishment of the Xiamen Merchant Center, it will lead and collaborate with industry ecological resources and key industry enterprises such as Yuguo Cross-border to tailor localized cross-border services for Xiamen merchants, helping cross-border e-commerce enterprises accelerate their growth.
