The 20th Cross-Strait Book Fair, running for a week, opened in Taiwan on Oct 15. The fair's main venue is located at the Taipei Flora Expo Dome.
With a main exhibition area of 6,000 square meters and a sub-venue area of 2,000 square meters, the fair features exhibition zones focusing on things such as Chinese mainland book displays, Taiwanese edition book sales, cross-Strait copyright negotiations, and new book releases. Publishers from both sides of the Taiwan Strait are showcasing their latest and finest publications at the fair.
During this year's fair, the publishing industry from both sides will engage in activities such as book subscriptions, copyright negotiations, and new book releases. There will also be special lectures, cultural experiences, and more.
Simultaneously, high-quality book exhibition and exchange venues will be set up in Taichung and Kaohsiung, creating new opportunities for cooperation in the publishing industry across the Strait.
This year's book fair will innovate by combining traditional and online exhibition models, with activities such as "virtual explorations" providing more opportunities for readers from both sides to participate in cultural exchanges through reading.
Since its establishment in Xiamen in July 2005, the fair has been held 19 times in both Xiamen and Taiwan. It has facilitated 713 million yuan ($100 million) in book purchases and concluded 4,550 copyright trade and cooperation projects, promoting the integration and development of cross-Strait cultures.
