Eighty-five containers containing e-commerce export goods such as raincoats and decorations were recently loaded onto a vessel at Xiamen Haitian Terminal and departed for Taipei Port. Upon arrival in Taipei, they will be transported to Europe and the United States via sea-air intermodal transportation through Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
The first "Great Three Links" sea-air intermodal express route from Xiamen Port to Taiwan was officially opened on May 23 this year, serviced by the A KEIGA vessel with one weekly departure.
The route leverages the advantages of the Xiamen-Taiwan shipping route and effectively connects with aviation resources in Taiwan, providing a convenient, efficient, stable, and cost-effective channel to help cross-border e-commerce enterprises increase their international presence.
Since its opening, the express route has facilitated the export of 1.08 million cross-border e-commerce goods worth 340 million yuan ($47.5 million).
With the approach of online shopping festivals such as Double Eleven and Double Twelve, the Xiamen Cross-border E-commerce Customs Supervision Center is busier than usual.
Over 90% of the center's export goods are transported to Taiwan via the sea-air intermodal express route. The journey takes approximately 15 hours to reach Taipei Port, with a transit time comparable to direct air freight but at a much lower cost.
