On Jan 1, 18.88 metric tons of bonded aviation fuel was pumped into the fuel tank of flight MH391 at Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport, marking the first international flight to receive bonded aviation fuel at the Xiamen airport in the new year.
This signaled the official implementation of customs supervision reforms for bonded aviation fuel in Fujian province.
On the first day of their implementation, Xiamen supervised a total of 34 outbound international flights at its airport, with a total of 678.35 tons of bonded aviation fuel pumped into aircraft tanks.
Customs use a specialized bonded logistics account book for the "digital + physical flow" supervision of bonded aviation fuel, reducing customs clearance procedures by 50 percent.
This has saved operating costs for enterprises, significantly improving the operation and utilization efficiency of enterprise aviation fuel tanks, and enhancing the safety supply coefficient of airport aviation fuel.
Fuel costs account for roughly a third of the air transportation costs. By using bonded aviation fuel, airlines can reduce fuel costs by about 10 percent, saving 600 yuan ($81.8) per ton.
Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport's bonded aviation fuel services cover 18 airlines including Xiamen Airlines, Philippine Airlines, and Malaysia Airlines.
The implementation of bonded aviation fuel services for international flights helps Xiamen establish an optimal business environment for the aviation industry, attracting foreign airlines to operate and providing important support for the development of Xiamen as an international aviation hub.
