The 2nd Xiamen-Kinmen New Year Goods Consumption Festival was held from Jan 10 to 12, featuring a wide variety of cross-Strait New Year goods, offering consumption vouchers, spring couplets, colorful lanterns, and a strong festive atmosphere in Dadeng Town.
Hosted by the Xiamen Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee, the festival aims to promote cross-Strait economic and cultural exchanges, allowing locals and tourists alike to experience the unique charm of Dadeng Town.
In addition to 3Q cakes and pineapple cakes from Taiwan, there are also local delicacies from Xiang'an district such as partridge soup and Dongliao dried tofu. During the event, the list of finalists for the 16th Cross-Strait Best Souvenir Contest was announced, and the citizens' selection activity was launched at the same time. Hundreds of cross-Strait souvenirs were gathered in Dadeng Town, where people searched for their favorite souvenirs at each booth.
Dadeng Town serves as an important platform for cross-Strait exchanges, allowing people to easily purchase a wide range of tax-free products from Taiwan and enjoy the many benefits offered by the integration of cross-Strait trade.
To stimulate people’s enthusiasm for shopping, the Xiamen FTZ Administrative Committee distributed a total of 500,000 yuan ($68,196) worth of consumption vouchers during the consumption festival. The vouchers were distributed through a combination of online and offline methods, offering a multitude of benefits for the upcoming Chinese New Year.
