A new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft from Seattle landed at Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport on Jan 26. It was the first new aircraft to join Xiamen Airlines' fleet this year and the fourth leased aircraft to date to land in the Xiamen Free Trade Zone.

At the beginning of the new year, the Xiamen FTZ saw the arrival of key leasing projects such as imported new aircrafts, domestically-produced civil aviation aircrafts, aircraft engines, leased ships, photovoltaic equipment, and integrated circuits.

In 2024, the financing leasing platform of the FTZ experienced robust development, introducing a total of 36 aircraft, engine, and ship leasing projects throughout the year. This influx of projects has brought over 6 billion yuan ($825 million) in fixed investments into the regional economy and added 19 billion yuan in assets.

The Xiamen FTZ Administrative Committee has consistently strengthened policy guidance to enhance the compliance and sustainability of industry development. In response to the development demands of the aircraft industry chain, it has taken the lead in researching and issuing supportive policies for the disposal of used aircraft, thereby accelerating the improvement of the aviation industry chain layout.

Since 2024, the Xiamen FTZ Administrative Committee has collaborated with customs, taxation, and other departments to discuss and strategize on issues related to the flow, supervision, taxation, and other aspects of cross-border leasing businesses. These efforts have facilitated the implementation of several cross-border leasing transactions.
