Last month, 127 domestic games were approved for publication licenses in China, including titles from leading gaming companies such as 37 Interactive Entertainment and Giant Network, as well as Xiamen-based developer G-bits' game Beasts of the Wilderness.

As game license approvals continue to be issued, China's gaming industry is accelerating its global expansion efforts. This "going global" strategy has become a key growth engine for Xiamen-based game companies.

In the "2025-2026 National Catalog of Key Cultural Export Enterprises and Projects" jointly released by the Ministry of Commerce and three other government agencies, 14 Xiamen game companies and three game projects were selected for inclusion.

In May, Dianchu Technologies from the Xiamen Free Trade Zone's National Cultural Export Base launched its mobile game Land of Valor in the domestic market. The game rapidly climbed to the top 5 on iOS Top Grossing charts and has surpassed five million registered users as of June 6, earning recognition as the "dark horse" of Chinese mobile games in 2025.

Another Xiamen-based Feiyu Technology expects to achieve net profits between 55 million to 70 million yuan($6.9-9.7 million) in the first half of this year, turning losses into gains year-on-year.

China's gaming industry is transitioning from product export to ecosystem development, with technological innovation, cultural integration, and industrial chain collaboration becoming key competitive factors.
