The Launch of Maritime Silk Road Ad HoC Arbitration Rules and MSRCIAP Recommended Panel of Ad Hoc Arbitrators was held in the Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District FTZ Pilot Zone on Sept 7, with the theme "Establishing International First-class Arbitration Institutions".
The Maritime Silk Road Ad HoC Arbitration Rules were developed by the Maritime Silk Road International Arbitration Promotion Center in collaboration with international arbitration experts from 12 countries along the Maritime Silk Road.
The rules deeply integrate the latest practices in international commercial and maritime arbitration with regional characteristics, aiming to provide parties with more flexible, efficient, and professional specialized arbitration services for foreign-related commercial and maritime disputes.
Simultaneously, the MSRCIAP Recommended Panel of Ad Hoc Arbitrators brings together seasoned arbitrators from various fields such as maritime affairs, trade, investment, and cross-border dispute resolution. Foreign arbitrators as well as those from Hong Kong and Macao accounted for 80 percent of the panel, offering parties international options for arbitrator selection and presenting the "Xiamen Solution" for dispute resolution.
On site, the first group of recommended special arbitrators received their letters of appointment. A total of 28 legal, maritime, and trade experts from ASEAN, BRICS countries, and Belt and Road Initiative participating countries were appointed, marking a significant step by the Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District FTZ Pilot Zone in enhancing its platform for providing cross-border international arbitrator services.
