A newly overhauled landing gear was installed onto an inbound aircraft for re-export on Nov 13, marking the 100th Boeing 787 landing gear maintenance completed by Taikoo (Xiamen) Landing Gear Services Co Ltd.

Since the beginning of this year, Xiamen Airport Customs has tried to accommodate industry demands by establishing the Aviation Maintenance Relay Station — a dedicated communication platform between customs and enterprises.

While creating a "problem-resolution" feedback mechanism, it has rolled out a series of enterprise-friendly measures to continuously unlock policy benefits for aviation maintenance companies.

According to data, from January to October this year, Xiamen Airport Customs supervised a total of 366 inbound and outbound aircraft for maintenance, with the import and export value of out-of-customs zone aviation bonded maintenance reaching 163.74 billion yuan ($23 billion) — year-on-year increases of 7.65 percent and 23.61 percent, respectively, with both metrics hitting record highs for the same period.

"With the strong support of customs' innovative policies, such as optimizing bonded warehouse storage management for aircraft materials, our order books are fully occupied this year, and 80 percent of next year's capacity has already been reserved," said Chen Yiyu, general manager of Taikoo (Xiamen) Landing Gear Services Co Ltd, "We are now preparing to expand production capacity while also venturing into maintenance services for the C909 landing gear of domestic aircraft."
