The Maritime Silk Road (Xiamen) International Film Industry Base, located in the Xiamen Free Trade Zone, is scheduled to open this June.

More than an upgrade to film-industry infrastructure, the base is designed to build a complete ecosystem spanning creation, production, technology R&D, and industry services.

Inside the experimental testing studio, a massive curved LED screen — developed in collaboration with Xiamen University's Film Engineering Laboratory — serves as a film-grade virtual production display, delivering approximately 80 percent of the final visual effect on set and enabling "post-production pre-visualization".

Twenty-eight high-precision cameras positioned at the top of the studio form a silent optical motion-capture array, with actors in specialized suits having their every move precisely tracked. In the future, within the 1,500-square-meter studio currently under construction, the number of cameras will increase to several hundred.

Also developed through the base's collaborative R&D system is the LED space light, which has been widely used in major productions such as Creation of the Gods and The Wandering Earth.

The first bonded exhibition center for film equipment in a pilot free trade zone is now under construction. It will bring together top global brands such as ARRI, RED, and Sony, offering film crews customs clearance benefits and cost savings.

The base will also feature three platforms: a one-stop service window for streamlined administrative procedures; an open-access public technology platform with advanced virtual production studios and motion-capture systems; and a film cloud platform providing massive computing power for rendering and AI production.
