The fourth session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) opened in Beijing on March 4, followed by the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) on March 5. This year, there are nine NPC deputies and 13 members of the CPPCC National Committee from Xiamen.

Feng Hongchang, a deputy to the NPC who once worked as a frontline dock worker in the Xiamen Free Trade Zone, continues to focus on supporting workers' professional growth this year.

He suggested establishing a skill evaluation system for technical talents, led by employers and grounded in professional standards and job specifications, with a focus on innovation, ability, performance, and contributions.

Feng stated, "The development of AI this year has also been very rapid. I hope we can improve institutional guidance to better leverage the innovative and leading role of highly skilled talents in enterprises, especially those at the technician level and above."

As one of the first national bases for cultural exports, how to facilitate the "going global" of quality cultural products is a key area of concern for the Xiamen FTZ. Wu Minjie, a newly appointed member of the CPPCC, is focusing on topics related to traditional culture and arts, public cultural services, and internet communication.

Wu stated, "Firstly, I hope to gain more policy support. Secondly, in the process of overseas dissemination, I believe there needs to be greater standardization. I hope more experts and scholars in the industry can use their professional expertise, combined with our communication capabilities, to help spread Chinese culture even further."
