Under the supervision of Xiamen Airport Customs, a batch of live oysters weighing 710 kilograms flew to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on an international flight of Xiamen Airlines, marking the successful completion of Xiamen's first "air-to-air transit" export of fresh aquatic products.

Dalian is an important base for oyster farming and supply in China. However, due to the lack of direct flights from Dalian to Kuala Lumpur, securing sufficient cargo capacity for oyster exports proved a great challenge.

Thanks to the dense network of Southeast Asian routes at Xiamen Airport, the "air-to-air transit" model was adopted. As a result, the oysters traveled from a Dalian warehouse to store shelves in Kuala Lumpur in under 24 hours, achieving a rapid farm-to-table journey.

Air cargo "air-to-air transit" refers to a transportation method where goods are carried by two or more flights to reach their destination. This model helps revitalize cargo route resources while building more convenient air cargo bridges and reducing transportation costs.

In the first quarter of this year, Xiamen Airport Customs supervised a total of 10,100 metric tons of imported and exported fresh goods, a year-on-year increase of 11.96 percent. Among these, exports reached 2,817.16 tons, up 74.39 percent year-on-year.
