With a single click on the Xiamen Maritime Single Window platform, the clearance process for the cargo ship SUNNY KALMIA at Haitian Terminal on June 13 was completed in under 10 minutes, with all port authorities conducting synchronized online reviews.
As China's first digital system covering the entire shipping chain, the platform has significantly improved vessel clearance efficiency since its launch on Dec 30, 2024, saving shipping companies an estimated 150 million yuan ($22 million) each year.
The platform, originating from Xiamen Free Trade Zone, was also recognized by the National Development and Reform Commission as a best-practice case and rolled out nationwide. It integrates port and shipping data resources and covers the full vessel entry and departure process, offering over 100 digital services across five major modules.
In line with international conventions, it also consolidates data from maritime, customs, port, and shipping stakeholders and introduces intelligent mechanisms for data comparison and review.
The platform enables coordinated handling of pilotage, tugboat, and terminal services, and has added new features such as crew services and weather inquiries, while facilitating direct vessel movements and cargo operations to help shorten berthing times.
Since its launch, it has facilitated the entry and departure of more than 9,000 international voyages, cutting the declaration and approval time per vessel by nearly one hour.
