Xiamen Seashine Aquatic Product Group has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the government of Changjiang Li autonomous county in Hainan province to build an aquaculture base and two supporting centers, creating an integrated model that links production directly with sales.

The project will provide Xiamen with a new source of premium seafood and strengthen the city's role as a major national aquatic product distribution hub.

The partnership leverages the policy advantages of the Fujian Free Trade Zone and the Hainan Free Trade Port, as well as the complementary marine and fishery resources of the two provinces.

Hainan officials noted that Xiamen, with its strategic location in Fujian, has long served as a key gateway for cross-Strait exchange and cooperation. The city has developed a comprehensive supply chain network that connects Taiwan, the national market, and global partners. At the same time, Fujian and Taiwan both enjoy strong aquacultural expertise.

A representative of Seashine Group said the partnership will bring Hainan's premium seafood directly from the sea to the table. It will expand Xiamen's product range while benefiting local consumers. Leveraging the policy strengths of the free trade zone and port, the group will also use its supply chain and brand network to distribute Hainan seafood to domestic and international markets via Xiamen.

The two sides will partner with Xiamen University to establish a center for specialty aquatic products. The center will support Changjiang in developing selective breeding programs and advancing mariculture techniques.
