In the first half of this year, exports of new energy vehicles (NEVs) through Xiamen's ports continued to rise.
From January to June, Xiamen Port exported 18,367 NEVs via roll‑on/roll‑off (ro-ro) vessels, up 218 percent year on year. In May alone, a single shipment of 3,250 vehicles to Brazil set a new record for the port.
By driving innovation across regulation, logistics, port operations, and the industrial chain, Xiamen aims to become a new national hub for NEV outbound shipments. It is also positioning itself as a strategic launchpad for Chinese automakers looking to expand into Southeast Asia and other global markets.
The Xiamen Free Trade Zone Administration, together with relevant local authorities, has been working to improve cross border trade facilitation and optimize port clearance services. It has established a green channel covering the entire process — from vehicle collection and inspection to loading — providing targeted and efficient support to ensure the smooth export of NEVs.
