A cohort of 82 Vietnamese students have started their journey in aircraft maintenance technology at Xiamen City University, as the school's 2026 international program in aircraft electromechanical equipment maintenance officially kicked off.

The program is a joint initiative between Xiamen City University and HAECO Xiamen, marking the university's first intake of Vietnamese students in this field.

Over the next few years, they will study aircraft maintenance techniques alongside traditional Chinese culture. After obtaining relevant certifications, they will return to Vietnam to work in the aviation maintenance industry.

Upon graduation, the students will receive both a college diploma and a training certificate from Taikoo, helping build a pipeline of international talent for the company's maintenance base in Vietnam.

"I love planes and want to work in aviation. I'm hoping to gain hands-on experience with the latest maintenance practices in Xiamen and learn skills that are truly up to international standards," said one of the engineering students.

A second group of 15 aircraft maintenance students from Kazakhstan and other countries will join the college this September, as the institution continues to expand its global footprint in aviation talent development.
